In 2022, Rachel formed an artist collective (Fabric x Flora) with a group of friends passionate about educating others on the impacts of fast fashion. The group formed to create Threads of Change, a mixed-media artwork made from textile waste rejected from local charity shops. The artwork was created for Yours & Owls festival in Wollongong, and later exhibited at the Wollongong Art Gallery in the Reassess Progress: Here + Now Exhibition curated by Xanthe Barker.
Rachel represented Fabric x Flora on the opening night of the exhibition, appearing on a curator's panel to discuss the exhibition theme in-front of a live audience. Fabric x Flora were featured in local news, including the ABC.
The work was a great success in the gallery, with a local school group choosing it as inspiration for their creative writing tour; crafting poems about the impact of textile waste.
